  3. Grant microphone, camera or notification permission only when you want to use the matching feature.
  4. Use the bottom navigation for Translate, History, Review, Learn and Lab.

Tip: source language means the language of the text you have. Destination language means the language you want to receive.

01

Type a word or expression

  1. Choose source and destination languages.
  2. Type or paste into the search box.
  3. Select an autocomplete suggestion or press Enter.

Meanings & Definitions

Synonyms & Antonyms

Shows related alternatives and genuine opposites when they exist. Tap a supported item to translate it.

Related Phrases

Shows common phrases, combinations and expressions built around the source entry. Tap one to start a new translation.

Common Mistakes, Grammar Notes and Regional Variants

Highlights frequent errors, useful structural rules and differences between regions or dialects.

Word Family

Shows related nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs to help build vocabulary around one root.

Context Examples

Examples are grouped by the exact meanings above. Qelumi aims for five examples per meaning, or ten when there is only one meaning. Use a speaker to listen, save one example or press Save All Examples.

Save and remember a result

  • Save individual context examples or all examples for the Review tab.
  • Add the entry to a custom list for focused practice.
  • Add it to the Recall List to schedule reminders after 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week and 1 month from the first search.
  • Use the up-arrow to return to the top. Tapping the sticky search box also returns to the language selectors.
  • The clear cross empties the search and the visible Translate result page.

3. History and Review

History

Every completed search is stored privately for a signed-in user. Search the list, change the sort order, reopen an entry or export visible learning content as TXT/DOC where offered.

Review

Contains context examples you deliberately saved. Search and sort them, listen with the speaker controls, use their spaced-repetition state and delete items you no longer need.

4. Learn & Practise

Games use words from your history and saved examples. Translate and save enough enriched entries before starting advanced activities.
